Tension and panic in Lagos following the Abuja Bombs Attack

Security has been beefed up in Lagos state following the twin bomb blast at the Kuje and Nyanya areas of Abuja.
The police identified the suicide bombers as a male and a female. There is tension and panic in Lagos following the tragedy as there are reports making the round on social media that Lagos is also being targeted by terror group, Boko Haram.
In a swift reaction, the Lagos state police public relations officer, DSP Joseph Offor, assured residents and visitors to the state that security agencies have taken preventative measures to foil any bomb blast.
DSP Offor who spoke to our correspondent in an exclusive phone interview said: “The commissioner of police Lagos state command, Fatai Owoseni, called an emergency meeting as soon as we got the news of the blast in Abuja.
“The CP is meeting with senior police officers and they are stragetising to prevent such occurrence in Lagos. The CP has already deployed the tactical officers to strategic points in the state.
“We have also beefed up security in the markets, hospitals, churches, mosques and other places to foil any attack. Our explosive ordinance unit are out working.
We are not leaving any room for the terrorists to take advantage of. We are also collaborating with the market men and women, churches, mosques so we assure residents of their safety. They should go about their lawful duties without fear”.
At least, twenty people were killed as terrorists attacked kuje and Nyanya areas of Abuja.
