A married woman simply identified as Winifred was caught at the weekend having sex with a lecturer in one of the hotels along Abraka road, Asaba. The lecturer named Simeon (surname withheld) lectures at the Federal College of Education, Asaba, Delta state and was the woman’s teacher while she was still a student there.
According to Leadership report, Winifred’s husband, a senior staff of the state-owned newspaper company had read a love text message the lecturer sent to his wife.
He then secretly mobilized people to monitor her activities.
On that fateful day, the husband’s relations traced her to the hotel where she was allegedly caught dressing up after her illicit activity.
They were said to have called the husband, who immediately rushed to the hotel with some people.
The randy lecturer managed to escape the crowd of people who gathered at the hotel to catch a glimpse of the unfolding drama.
The crowd pounced on the woman and beat her mercilessly until she confessed.
Winifred was rescued by policemen at the ‘B’ Division Asaba who were called to the scene of the crime.
According to one of the police officers, when they arrived at the scene, the woman’s clothes had been torn already, adding that she blamed the act on the devil.
Her husband, however, vowed to send her packing, saying: “It is over for my wife. The only saving grace is that the lecturer escaped.”
There’s been an increasing rate of divorce and many have blamed it on adultery. A husband simply identified as Udoh, had reportedly caught his wife having sex with their next door neighbour, Chukwuka, on their matrimonial bed on Saturday, September 12.
About two weeks ago, an Ekiti-based businessman, Muyiwa Owolabi, had reportedly dragged his wife, Tinuola, to an Ado Ekiti Customary Court for committing ‘social media’ adultery. He asked the court to dissolve their 10-year-old marriage.
