NNPC Boss Sacks All Subsidiary Heads, Retires 38 Senior Managers

Based on the latest reports, Emmanuel Kachikwu, the new managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has sacked all the managing directors of its subsidiaries and retired 38 senior managers.

The recently appointed NNPC boss attributed the move to the federal government’s attempt to transform the NNPC into a fully transparent and accountable company “keeping with international best practices”.
The body also announced the appointment of new executive directors approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The new NNPC seniors are: Maikanti Baru (executive director, Exploration and Production), Isiaka Abdulrazaq (executive director, Finance and Services), Dennis Ajulu (executive director, Refining and Technology), Babatunde Adeniran, (executive director, Commercial and Investment).
A series of other appointments for non-executive positions has also been announced.
It should be recalled that Kachikwu assumed office last week. It is believed to be an attempt by President Buhari to restore the reputation of the body associated with scandalous corruption cases.
The new NNPC boss has already relieved the managing director of the petroleum products and marketing company, Prince Haruna Momoh, of his duties and sacked all the group executive directors.
