Former Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Akinola Muritala Salau Dies.
On behalf of the National President, Babajide Bewaji and the National Executive Council of the LAUTECH Alumni Association, with deep sense of loss we regret to announce the passing away of The Former Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Akinola Muritala Salau who passed to the great beyond today 25th July, 2015 in Abuja at the age of 67.

Until his death, Prof. A. M. Salau was a National Commissioner with INEC and was actively involved in the 2015 General Elections. Prof. Salau; a Professor of Physics was once a Sole Administrator between June 15, 1997 – July 5, 1999, Ag. Vice Chancellor from July 6, 1999 – May 22, 2000. Before serving out his full term of 5years as the 2nd substantive Vice Chancellor of Great LAUTECH on 22nd May, 2005.

While he was the VC, LAUTECH was awarded the Best State University in Nigeria in Year 2003 & 2004 respectively. He also bagged the award of The NUC Best Vice Chancellor in Nigeria’s State Universities in 2005. In 2006, The Late University don was appointed as The Executive Chairman of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Oyo State.

We also commiserate with the entire Salau family of Oke-Adu in IbadanLand, Ibadan Muslim community, INEC, The incumbent VC of the University; Professor Adeniyi Sulaiman Gbadegeshin, the entire staff, students and management of LAUTECH community.
