During the operation, 59 people held hostage in camps by Boko Haram insurgents in the state, were rescued.
This was announced in a statement on Thursday, July 30, by Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, acting director army public relations, PM News reports.
According to Usman, during the offensive operations the fleeing terrorists left underground silos.
Troops of 151 Task Force Battalion also, conducted operations on Kashingeri, Wale and Kushingari Boko Haram terrorists camps.
Usman said: “During the raids, quite a number of the terrorists were killed, a Land rover vehicle and a Tipper were recovered.”
Boko Haram is notorious for kidnapping women and children. On Tuesday, July 28, the Nigerian army had announced that troops rescued 30 people from the captivity of Boko Haram in Dikwa LGA, Borno state. Usman assured Nigerians that the army is working assiduously in containing the sect.
